Beyond the awards, a highlight for viewers is always the incredible—and occasionally questionable—fashion showcased. After spotlighting the red carpet’s biggest hits, we now turn our attention to the stars whose looks fell a little flat.
Justin Sylvester
Justin Sylvester, co-host of E!’s “Daily Pop,” saved us from seeing just another boring black suit on the carpet, but unfortunately, this one looks far too tight.
Maya Rudolph
We love you Maya Rudolph, but our girl arrived in a dress that looked as if she had found it in the back of her wardrobe. You could have put in a little more effort, Ms. Rudolph.
Skylar Diggins
We did not need the blue train on WNBA icon Skylar Diggins’ black sparkly dress. This could have been an easy fix, but hey, at least the body’s tea.
Emily Blunt
Emily Blunt must have posed like a statue all night because her dress looked incredibly stiff. Elegant? Sure. Comfortable? We don’t think so!

Omar Benson Miller, of “Sinners” fame, chose a disappointingly safe, plain black suit. His attire was more suitable for the church deacon’s bench than for Hollywood’s most prestigious awards ceremony.
Simon Franglen
British composer Simon Franglen, who has composed scores for iconic films like “Friday (1995)” and “Avatar (2009),” tried to spice up his plain black suit with a bright orange and blue scarf, but it did not serve the way he might have hoped. You can always try again next year, Franglen!
Janelle James
Orange is absolutely “Abbott Elementary” star Janelle James’ color, but this dress looks like a last-minute “I’ll throw on what I have” situation.

If PEOPLE Editor-at-large Janine Rubenstein were not dazzling the camera with her smile, her dress would have blended right into the carpet, because this is some incredible camouflage.
