Congolese music icon Fally Ipupa has officially ushered in a new era with the release of his highly anticipated album “XX,” a landmark project celebrating two decades of excellence, innovation, and global influence.

Released on April 17 via Warner Music France, the 19-track album stands as both a reflection of Fally Ipupa’s enduring legacy and a bold step forward in his ever-evolving artistry. Widely regarded as the “Prince of Rumba,” the Congolese superstar once again demonstrates his ability to bridge tradition and modernity, blending the rich, guitar-led foundations of Congolese rumba with contemporary elements of pop, R&B and Afrobeats.

Leading the project is the standout track ‘Jam,’ featuring Afrobeats heavyweight Wizkid, alongside the previously released single ‘Cinéma.’ The album also boasts an impressive lineup of international collaborators, including Grammy Award-winning legend Angélique Kidjo, Haitian rising star Joé Dwèt Filé, South African Amapiano pioneer DJ Maphorisa, São Toméan duo Calema, and French rapper KeBlack.

Behind the scenes, “XX” is powered by an elite production team featuring Trésor Riziki, Dany Synthé, and Seysey, delivering a polished and expansive sonic experience that reflects Fally Ipupa’s global outlook.

Arriving on the heels of his Gold-certified “Formule 7” album, “XX” finds the artist at a compelling crossroads, merging the global pop appeal of his Tokoos era with the deeper, traditional textures that have always defined his sound. The result is a body of work that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted, reinforcing his unique ability to connect cultures, generations and musical worlds.

With over three billion global streams, more than 2.5 billion YouTube views, and a social following exceeding 30 million, Fally Ipupa’s influence extends far beyond music. A four-time BET Award nominee, he has consistently broken barriers on the global stage, including his historic sell-out of Paris La Défense Arena in November 2023, making him the first African solo artist to headline and fill Europe’s largest indoor venue.

The celebrations continue as Fally Ipupa prepares for two historic concerts at Stade de France on May 2 and 3, marking his 20-year milestone and the release of “XX.” The shows are expected to further solidify his status as one of Africa’s most influential live performers, with a major international tour across the UK, Europe, and North America also on the horizon.

Beyond his musical achievements, Fally Ipupa remains committed to social impact through his ambassadorial work with organizations such as UNESCO and UNICEF, reinforcing his role as both a cultural and humanitarian figure.

With “XX,” Fally Ipupa not only celebrates a remarkable journey but also reaffirms his place at the forefront of African music’s global expansion—an artist whose legacy continues to shape the sound and story of the continent on the world stage.
