Jeremy Matata: Lugazi completes signing of electric winger

Uganda Premier League side Lugazi has confirmed the signing of electric winger Jeremy Matata in the ongoing transfer window.

The development has been confirmed via the club’s website today, Monday, August 3, 2026.

“Lugazi FC is pleased to announce the signing of electric winger Jeremy Matata,” the statement partly reads.

Matata joins Lugazi on a two-year employment contract that will keep him at the club until 2028.

He is a great addition to the team rebuilding since he operates both on the right and left, thus giving the gaffer a positive headache in the squad selection.

Speaking to the club media, Mateta expressed the joy and excitement knowing he is going to work with the coach that he worked with before.

“It has been a while without working with my coach, who introduced me to football when I was still at school. I have now got the opportunity to work with him again and I am eager to put up an excellent show under his good guidance,” he said.

“We need to put Lugazi FC up there. It’s going to be hard work here. I need to impress the coach because that’s the only way I can fit into his system.”
