Internationally acclaimed Dancehall superstar Masicka unleashes a simmering new single and music video entitled Boasty
On Boasty, Masicka takes a well-earned victory lap for his recent run of hit songs including UK favourite Whites, while reaffirming his place at the top of the genre. The accompanying visual, directed by Shane Creative, mirrors that energy, with Masicka holding court in a lavish mansion and a packed nightclub.
Still, he never forgets where he came from, the clips alternate between sweet moments of celebration and vignettes of the star back where it all began in a small Jamaican town, reminiscent of his birthplace Portmore, St Catherine. On Boasty, Masicka looks back on his journey while continuing to push forward as one of Dancehalls biggest exports, building on the momentum he’s sustained since his breakout hit Guh Haad and Done. The single also carries a deeper cultural nod, as Masicka paying homage to the legacy of Gerald “Mr. Wacky” Levy, whose influence remains embedded in the fabric of the genre.
Boasty follows the success of Life Of Sin, released earlier this year and which debuted at No.1 on the U.S. Reggae iTunes chart, gaining close to 1 million YouTube views for the official music video.
Hitting another benchmark, Masicka garnered a nomination for Best Caribbean Music Act at the 2026 MOBO Awards. In recent years Masicka has been bestowed many major award nominations. He previously led the 2025 Caribbean Music Awards with seven nominations, taking home Reggae Song of the Year for Been There Before alongside Romain Virgo.
Masicka has risen to become one of the most celebrated names in the dancehall scene. His lyrical content often revolves around the realities of life in the inner cities. His songs reflect the struggles, violence, and social issues faced by many marginalised youth, but he also brings an element of hope, resilience, and his admiration for women to his music. Through clever wordplay and thought-provoking lyrics, Masicka captures the attention and respect of his listeners and has captivated audiences worldwide with his distinctive style and has attracted a dedicated global fan base.
