All the High Drama Behind Ray J’s Thanksgiving Arrest

Another day, another opportunity for Ray J to be back in the headlines. Only this time around, his latest dealings have to do with his shocking Thanksgiving 2025 arrest and jail time.

As we told you over the weekend, the “Last Wish” singer pulled a loaded gun on his soon-to-be ex-wife Princess Love on a Twitch livestream while she and his children were over his house for the holiday. But what exactly led up to that scary encounter? And how did Ray J spend his brief time behind bars?

Let’s address the latter one first. As we later found out during a separate livestream on Kick, the R&B singer’s visit to jail mostly went off without a hitch–save for, a man who was allegedly pleasuring himself next to Ray J. Due to the man’s action, an altercation almost ensued between the two.

“I was arguing with this nigga in here who was jacking off in jail,” Ray J explained during the Kick stream. “I almost beat the nigga ass four times because I’m like, ‘Bro, I’m trying to survive in here.’…Jacking off under his bed bro. It was crazy, I almost beat that nigga under his bed bro. [Quit] playin’ with me. Talking bout ‘Ray J, Ray J.’ It was a lot. Yeah, man. Never go to jail, y’all. It’s really bad.”

Now as far as what exactly led up to the aforementioned altercation with Love and his children, we unfortunately can only rely on the people who were there. It’s been well-documented over the years that the two have had a pretty volatile relationship. They first filed for divorce in May 2020, but later reconciled. However, the two would then filed for divorce three more times: in September 2020, October 2021, and February 2024. In all this time, most of their arguments and falling outs have centered around their kids.

As far as this most recent Thanksgiving incident, from Ray J’s point of view, things went left after he and Love got into an argument and she went to go retrieve their sleeping kids from his bedroom. She allegedly didn’t go in there alone and was accompanied by a man and they were both inebriated according to Ray.

Waking up his kids and potentially getting on the road with them while drunk allegedly caused him to lash out though we still don’t understand why it had to result in him pulling a gun out.

“I’m going for mines. For my kids? I’mma double down on that, y’all can’t do that. But you know what? It is what it is. I love my kids. I’m not playing about my kids, and that’s it,” he said in a since-deleted post.

When it comes to Love, however, she claimed in another since-deleted post that she urged Ray J not to cause any arguments while she was there, otherwise she’d leave with their kids. Eventually, Love also explained that she didn’t understand why she still has hope that they can peacefully co-parent their children.
