The vehicle handed over to SIRDI is one of five vehicles to be provided under the project. This support will enhance SIRDI’s capacity to conduct fieldwork, crop monitoring, farmer training, and capacity-building activities, while enabling the institute to provide timely technical assistance to sugarcane farmers in the northern districts. Receiving the vehicle on behalf of SIRDI was Mr. Marcos Osorio, Executive Director of the Sugar Industry Research and Development Institute.
The vehicle handed over to the Policy Unit will strengthen the department’s effectiveness in collecting and gathering data to support data-driven decision-making. It will also support CRESAP’s monitoring and evaluation efforts, helping to improve the availability and use of reliable agricultural data. Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the department was Hon. Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Agriculture, Food Security & New Growth Industries.
Present at the handing-over ceremony were Dr. Hon. Osmond Martinez, Minister of State in the Ministry of Economic Transformation; Hon.
