Comment on Film Review: ‘Michael’ by DVD Supplier UK
The comparison with 'An American Dream' gives your review a useful perspective on what gets lost when a family story becomes a feature centred on one performer. Your recollection of recording the ITV broadcasts also makes the nostalgia feel specific rather than abstract. It is interesting that you can identify those gaps in characterisation and still find the performances so entertaining.
