D4vd’s father, Dawud Burke, reportedly made a real estate move involving his son’s property amid the singer’s ongoing murder case.

According to reports, Burke sold a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Houston in July. The 1,819-square-foot property was reportedly valued at approximately $229,000.

Burke currently resides in Texas in a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home.

The reported real estate transaction comes shortly after D4vd’s private defense team withdrew from his case and the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s office was appointed to represent him.

“This morning the court granted our request to withdraw as counsel and appointed the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, after it was determined David qualified for appointed counsel.”

D4vd’s former attorneys also expressed their continued support for the singer as he moves forward with new representation.

“We continue to support David and his defense against these serious charges. We are grateful that the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office has taken over the representation and that David has a highly capable and committed team of attorneys and investigators behind him.”

D4vd and his family have not released a statement following the latest change to his defense team. The latest developments come as the singer’s legal battle continues, with his new public defender now taking over his defense.

His new lawyer is Walid Fouad Kandeel, and he addressed the court after his appointment was announced.

“We recognize the loss of life underlying the allegations and extend our sympathies to those who are grieving. At the same time, David Burke is entitled to a defense that takes his circumstances seriously and carefully examines the evidence. We are committed to providing him with that defense,” Kandeel shared in a statement.

In his first move as d4vd’s lawyer, he asked to postpone the arraignment, but the judge denied the request.

The singer pled not guilty to charges of murder with special circumstances, sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains in relation to the death of teenager Celeste Rivas.
