Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery has issued a fresh spot tender offering fuel oil and carbon black for sale, signaling continued expansion of its product slate as it ramps up operations and export activity, CNBC Africa reported. The tender, disclosed by trade sources in April 2026, reflects the refinery’s strategy to monetize by-products and intermediate outputs alongside its core fuels.
Fuel oil, typically used as feedstock for further refining or industrial energy has been a recurring export stream from the 650,000 barrels-per-day facility, while carbon black, a key input in tyre manufacturing and plastics, highlights the refinery’s growing integration into petrochemical value chains. The move aligns with Dangote’s broader ambition to build a fully integrated energy and industrial complex.
The development follows earlier tenders for refined products such as jet fuel and gasoil, as the refinery increasingly taps international markets to optimise revenue and balance domestic supply. Industry data shows the facility has already begun exporting fuels across Africa, benefiting from regional supply gaps and disruptions in global trade flows.
