By Zoila Palma: The Golden Night Festival of Arts was held last night at the Sacred Heart Auditorium in San Ignacio, bringing together students, parents, teachers and community members in a vibrant celebration of Belizean talent and culture.
The event featured 46 performances from more than 20 schools, including high schools, highlighting the creativity and artistic abilities of young performers across the district.
Among the participating schools was Hills of Promise SDA Primary School, which received special recognition for promoting history and culture through dance with its folklore performance, Baile de la Chatona.
The Benque Viejo Town Council congratulated the school for its achievement, noting the importance of preserving Belize’s cultural heritage through the arts.
The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) noted that the National Festival of Arts serves as a powerful reminder of the value of investing in children and promoting artistic expression.
