By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man has been charged with firearm and ammunition offences after police say a high-speed SUV caught the attention of officers conducting an anti-crime operation.
Police say GI3 personnel were operating in the St. Martin’s area at around 3:40 a.m. when they observed an SUV travelling at high speed.
Officers pursued and intercepted the vehicle.
A subsequent search allegedly led to the discovery of a 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol containing a magazine loaded with eight live rounds of ammunition.
Police formally arrested and charged 33-year-old Lloyd Parchue of Croton Lane, Belize City, with keeping a firearm without a gun licence and keeping ammunition without a gun licence.
