By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 55-year-old motorcyclist died following a road traffic accident on the George Price Highway between miles 76 and 77 on Saturday evening.
Police reported that the accident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m.
At the scene, police found a National Bus Company passenger bus parked on the right side of the highway facing Succotz Village, with damage to its front driver’s-side headlamp and bumper.
A black Meilum motorcycle was also found on the roadway with damage to its front portion and handle.
The motorcyclist, identified as Patrick Joseph Chun, 55, of Duck Run 1 Village, was found motionless in a ditch approximately nine feet from the motorcycle.
Police said the scene was secured and processed, while the bus driver, Marcos Santos, 57, of Benque Viejo Town, was escorted to the Benque Viejo Police Station pending investigation.
Police issued Santos a Notice of Intended Prosecution and requested a blood or urine sample which he provided.
