Sandals’ Jamaica story is getting a major new chapter this winter.
It starts Nov. 18, when Sandals South Coast reopens after a major reimagining. A month later, Sandals Montego Bayreturns on Dec. 18, joined the same day by the debut of Sandals Caribbean Cay, the new name and new incarnation of the former Sandals Royal Caribbean.
By January, Sandals expects to have all 7 of its Jamaica resorts operating again, stretching from Negril and Whitehouse to Montego Bay and Ocho Rios.
The company is putting a substantial offer behind the return, too. Its Great Jamaica Comeback promotion includes up to $1,500 in instant credit, up to $350 in air credit, and a complimentary Jamaica excursion with qualifying stays of 5 nights or longer. Current promotional rates range from $159 per person, per night at Sandals Ochi to $417 per person, per night at Sandals Montego Bay, depending on dates and room category.
The bigger story is choice.
You have the famous beach at Negril, a private offshore island in Montego Bay, overwater villas on the south coast, an all-butler hideaway in Ocho Rios, and one of Sandals’ newest resorts near Dunn’s River Falls. Three properties will enter the winter season after significant projects, while 4 others give you very different versions of a Sandals Jamaica vacation.
Here’s the full lineup.

Sandals South Coast: The Comeback Starts Here
The first reopening comes on Nov. 18, when Sandals South Coast welcomes travelers back to Whitehouse.
This is one of Sandals’ most distinctive Jamaica resorts, bordered by a 500-acre protected nature reserve and home to some of the brand’s most sought-after accommodations.
You can stay in an Overwater Butler Villa, choose one of the circular Rondoval villas with a private pool, or reserve a swim-up suite where the pool runs directly past your terrace.
The reimagined resort will have 10 restaurants, 7 bars, 4 pools and 4 whirlpools, along with pickleball, tennis, scuba diving, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, waterskiing and other included water sports.
Among the new additions are Butch’s Island Chophouse and BLUM Coffee Bar, joining longtime favorites including Jasmine’s, Schooner’s, Neptune’s, Sushi on the Sand, Giuseppe’s and the Jerk Shack.
There’s also a new pool and extensive landscaping across the resort.
If you reserve 5 nights or longer under the qualifying comeback offer, Sandals is including a catamaran trip to YS Falls, where a series of waterfalls and natural swimming pools cuts through the interior of western Jamaica.
Rates in the current promotion start at $272 per person, per night.
South Coast is the one to choose if your idea of Sandals includes a little more seclusion, an overwater villa or Rondoval, and a resort that gives you plenty to do over several days.

Sandals Montego Bay: The Original Is Coming Back
Then comes Dec. 18.
That’s the reopening date for Sandals Montego Bay, the resort where the Sandals story began more than 40 years ago.
The company has used the closure to undertake a broad redesign, bringing in new suites, new swim-up accommodations, a redesigned main pool and new concepts across the property.
The resort will also have a new Parisol Beach Club experience, while preserving one of the pieces of Sandals history longtime visitors will know immediately: the original swim-up bar.
Bricks carrying the names of generations of returning visitors have been preserved and incorporated into the new project.
The room inventory includes 255 rooms and suites, giving Montego Bay a smaller footprint than some of Sandals’ larger Jamaica properties. The big appeal here has always been the marriage of beach, activity and convenience.
The resort is just minutes from Sangster International Airport, which means you can land in Montego Bay and get to the property quickly.
Qualifying comeback stays also include Martha Brae River bamboo rafting, one of Jamaica’s classic inland experiences. You’ll travel down the river aboard a bamboo raft through dense tropical vegetation outside Falmouth.
Current promotional rates begin at $417 per person, per night.
If you want to see what Sandals has done with the resort that started the company, December will be your first chance.

Sandals Caribbean Cay: A New Name and a Private Island
The second Dec. 18 opening is a hotel longtime Sandals travelers already know, although you won’t find the old name on the sign.
The former Sandals Royal Caribbean is becoming Sandals Caribbean Cay, returning with 291 rooms, an expanded pool, new accommodations and a revamped private island.
The offshore cay remains the centerpiece.
You reach it by boat from the main resort, where you’ll find the new Parisol Beach Club, a pool, swim-up bar, beach palapas, a Jerk Shack and the resort’s Overwater Butler Villas.
The main property is also getting SkyPool Suites, Swim-up Suites and a new Jamaican restaurant called Suppa. Oceanview Butler Suites are expected to follow in June 2027.
The private island has always separated this resort from the rest of the Montego Bay Sandals collection. You can spend part of the day at the main hotel, take the short boat ride offshore and settle into a cabana, pool or overwater villa a few minutes later.
Guests staying 5 nights or longer under the comeback offer can also receive the Martha Brae bamboo rafting excursion.
Current promotional rates start at $324 per person, per night.
If you want Montego Bay convenience with the unusual addition of an offshore island, Sandals Caribbean Cay remains one of the most distinctive choices in the company’s Jamaica portfolio.

Sandals Negril: Seven Mile Beach Right Outside
Then there’s Sandals Negril, where the attraction is straightforward: you’re on Seven Mile Beach.
The famous Negril strip has long been one of Jamaica’s defining resort areas, and Sandals puts you directly on its white sand.
The property has 8 restaurants, along with bars, pools, water sports and a mix of rooms and suites designed around the beachfront location.
Negril also gives you a very different Jamaica trip from Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. The western end of the island is known for long stretches of beach, sunset bars, cliffside swimming areas and places like Rick’s Cafe farther down the road.
You can spend a full week largely focused on the beach here, with paddleboards, kayaks and other included activities readily available.
The comeback promotion adds bamboo rafting on the Great River for qualifying stays of 5 nights or more.
Current rates featured in the sale begin at $213 per person, per night, making Sandals Negril one of the less expensive choices in the Jamaica lineup during the promotional period.
If the beach is your priority, Negril deserves to be near the top of your list.

Sandals Dunn’s River: One of the Newest Sandals Resorts in Jamaica
Sandals Dunn’s River arrived in 2023 (and reopened in late 2025 after the storm), giving Ocho Rios one of the most ambitious new resorts in the Sandals portfolio.
The property has 12 restaurants, 9 bars, 5 pools and 2 river pools, along with scuba diving, snorkeling, water sports, pickleball and a substantial collection of suites.
Its most distinctive accommodations include the Coyaba Sky Rondoval Butler Villas, which pair Sandals’ circular Rondoval design with private rooftop terraces and soaking tubs.
The resort also has Tufa Terrace SkyPool Butler Suites, with elevated private pools looking toward the Caribbean.
You’re in the Ocho Rios area here, which puts some of Jamaica’s best-known attractions nearby, including Dunn’s River Falls.
Sandals is including a catamaran cruise to Dunn’s River Falls with qualifying 5-night stays under the comeback campaign.
The excursion is an especially natural fit at this resort: you travel by catamaran and then climb the famous terraced waterfall, one of the signature activities on Jamaica’s north coast.
Rates we found start at $245 per person, per night.

Sandals Ochi: The Biggest Choice at the Lowest Starting Rate
Sandals Ochi gives you a very different proposition.
It’s large, busy and packed with things to do. There are 16 restaurants, 11 bars and a food truck, along with multiple pools, entertainment venues and a broad range of rooms and suites across the property.
You can have jerk chicken with a Red Stripe, sushi later in the day, head to the speakeasy after dinner and finish with a late-night stop at the Great House Café.
The resort also gives you another way to experience Ocho Rios at one of the lowest advertised prices in the Sandals Jamaica portfolio.
The Great Jamaica Comeback campaign currently lists rates from $159 per person, per night.
Like Sandals Dunn’s River and Sandals Royal Plantation, qualifying stays come with a catamaran excursion to Dunn’s River Falls.
Ochi is especially well suited to travelers who want lots of choices over the course of a week. You have more restaurants and bars to sample, different pools, entertainment and plenty happening across the resort.
If you tend to spend most of your vacation on the property and want a different place for dinner or a drink every night, Ochi gives you plenty of options.

Sandals Royal Plantation: Jamaica’s Intimate All-Butler Sandals
At the other end of the Sandals spectrum is Sandals Royal Plantation.
This is the small one. The Ocho Rios resort is entirely butler-suite based, giving it a much more intimate character than Sandals Ochi nearby.
There are 5 restaurants and 2 bars, along with 2 beach areas and a collection of suites overlooking the Caribbean.
The standout accommodation is Villa Plantana, a three-bedroom beachfront villa with a private pool and dedicated Butler Service.
Royal Plantation also has one feature you won’t find at any other Sandals Jamaica resort: a Champagne and caviar bar, available at an additional charge.
And your stay comes with another useful perk. Sandals provides complimentary transportation between Royal Plantation and nearby Sandals Ochi, so you can use the restaurants and bars at the larger resort as well.
Comeback stays include the same catamaran cruise to Dunn’s River Falls offered at the other Ocho Rios Sandals properties.
Current promotional rates begin at $322 per person, per night.
Choose Royal Plantation if you prefer a smaller resort, Butler Service and a quieter base while keeping the much larger Sandals Ochi collection nearby.
Which Sandals Jamaica Resort Should You Choose?
By January, the decision gets more interesting because the entire 7-resort collection is expected to be available again.
If you want the first look at one of the reopened properties, Sandals South Coast returns Nov. 18, followed by Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Caribbean Cay on Dec. 18.
If you want Seven Mile Beach, choose Sandals Negril.
If you want one of the newer Sandals properties and ambitious suite categories, look at Sandals Dunn’s River.
If you want the broadest restaurant and entertainment selection at a lower advertised starting rate, Sandals Ochi is the obvious candidate.
If you prefer a smaller all-butler property, Sandals Royal Plantation offers an entirely different Ocho Rios experience.
And if the idea of taking a boat to your resort’s own private offshore island sounds appealing, Sandals Caribbean Caybelongs on your shortlist.
The comeback offer makes the winter window especially interesting. Depending on the qualifying stay, you can get up to $1,500 in instant credit, up to $350 in air credit and one of several Jamaica excursions.
