BENGALURU, India — A thrilling Twenty20 International series between India and West Indies ended in a 2–2 draw after heavy rain forced a no-result in the fifth and final match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Persistent rain delayed the start by nearly two hours, eventually reducing the contest to a nine-overs-per-side affair after West Indies won the toss and elected to field.
Despite the shortened format, India’s batsmen came out firing, posting 118–5 in 7.4 overs before the weather intervened permanently. Ishan Kishan set the early tone with a blistering 30 off just 10 balls, featuring three fours and two sixes. Shreyas Iyer chipped in with 22 off 14 deliveries, while Naman Dhir provided a late surge, smashing an unbeaten 24 off only six balls with three maximums.
With the covers back on, play was officially called off at 10:21 p.m. — the absolute latest cutoff time that would have allowed the West Indies a minimum five-over run chase. Keemo Paul was the pick of the Caribbean bowlers, picking up key wickets.
