Soufrière ranks second among world’s happiest travel destinations

JustCover, an Irish travel insurance company, says it analysed more than one million online travel reviews to see how often travellers used words expressing genuine happiness when describing attractions across 155 destinations worldwide.

After combining the findings into a “Happy Place” score out of 100, Soufrière, Saint Lucia, got a score of 95.2. This put it in second among destinations where travellers reported feeling the most joy.

Soufrière is home to one of the Caribbean’s most recognisable landmarks, the Pitons. These towering volcanic peaks are a UNESCO World Heritage Site along Saint Lucia’s southwestern coast. The town also provides access to the Sulphur Springs, the Caribbean’s only drive-in volcano, where visitors can experience the popular mineral mud baths.

In addition to its natural attractions, Soufrière has plenty of water activities, including snorkelling near the Pitons, as well as land adventures like ATV tours. Its famous resorts and these attractions have made the town one of Saint Lucia’s top places to visit for years.
