Vipers SC beat Buhimba United to return to winning ways after back to back draws in the Uganda Premier League.
Vipers SC secured a well-deserved 2-0 victory against Buhimba United in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Royals Park, Butema on Tuesday.
Derrick Ochen (OG) and Karim AbdulKarim Watambala were on target as Vipers secured maximum points away from home.
Hillary Mukundane’s header went off Ochen before it rolled into the back of the net. The Venoms took the lead in the 12th minute as Buhimba United’s backline were slow to react.
Yunus Sentamu beat his markers before setting up Watambala but the attacking midfielder’s effort was blocked.
With two minutes to conclude the opening stanza, Sentamu once again pierced through the backline but was denied by the goalkeeper who made a smart save.
Twelve minutes into the second half, Karim Watambala converted from the spot to double Vipers’ lead on the day.
The victory keeps Vipers on top of the log with 55 points while Buhimba United lie 15th with 15 points collected in 24 games.
