By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belize starts the weekend with a wet morning and rougher water offshore.
The National Meteorological Service says warm, moist and unstable conditions are in place. Expect sunshine with cloudy spells today, along with a few showers, thunderstorms and some light rain over southern and central areas this morning.
The good news is that shower activity should ease off by afternoon.
Tonight turns partly cloudy, with a few showers or thunderstorms holding on over the south and isolated showers elsewhere.
Anyone heading out on the water should take note. A small craft caution is in effect, with gusty winds and locally rough seas expected near heavy showers and thunderstorms. Seas are choppy with waves of 3 to 5 feet and easterly winds at 10 to 20 knots.
Temperatures stay warm, reaching 94 degrees Fahrenheit inland, 88 on the coast and 80 in the hills.
Sunday looks better, mainly fair and warm across the country.
Forecasters say no tropical cyclone formation is expected over the next 48 hours.
