Who will Kaizer Chiefs face in the CAF Confederation Cup?

Kaizer Chiefs will fancy their chances of making into the CAF Confederation Cup group stage following the draw on Thursday.

Amakhosi were exempted from the first preliminary round after Congo Brazaville could not succeed in registering a team.

This means Chiefs will enter the competition from the second preliminary round which is just two matches away from the group stage.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO FACE EITHER RED ARROWS OR FC ROUGE

Now, with that said, Chiefs will face the winner between Red Arrows of Zambia and Madagascar’s FC Rouge.

The two relatively unknown teams – Red Arrows and FC Rouge – will battle it out in the first preliminary round on the weekend of 4-6 September.

Chiefs will have to wait until October to make their first appearance of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

The first leg of the second preliminary round is scheduled for the weekend of 16–18 October with the return leg scheduled for the weekend of 23–25 October.

This will be Amakhosi’s second successive participation in the CAF Confederation Cup after falling short of making it past the group stage last season.
