An American Lung Association study found that almost half of all Americans live in communities with unhealthy ozone and particle pollution levels. People of color are more than twice as likely to live in these areas.
In partnership with The Washington Informer, Word In Black will host a discussion with innovators working to curb pollution and improve the air in Black communities.
We’ll also hear from the reporters behind The Informer’s ongoing solutions journalism series focused on Washington, D.C.’s air quality, which received an “F” rating in 2025.
