By Zoila Palma: Families in San Pedro Columbia that were devastated by fire last week are thanking communities for their support.
Several homes were destroyed and families displaced.
Lanie Ical joined in expressing gratitude to all families and to those in San Antonio, Cayo who gathered items to assist families.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone from San Antonio, Cayo, anonymous donors, and friends who contributed to helping these families. Your kindness and generosity have not gone unnoticed, and it has truly made a difference in a time of deep loss.
This is the Hun’s family, who tragically lost three homes along with all their belongings in the fire. In a matter of moments, everything they worked so hard to build was gone,” Ical said.
Ical says that Hun is a hardworking farmer, and his wife is a dedicated housewife.
“They have always done their best to provide through honest, hard work, never asking for much, only striving to take care of their family and live with dignity. Losing their homes and possessions has been heartbreaking.
Yet, even in the face of such hardship, your support has brought light into their darkest moment. Every single contribution, no matter how small, has reminded them that they are not alone. With just one dollar, you gave them hope, strength, and a reason to keep moving forward,” Ical added.
“Your generosity is more than financial help; it is a symbol of compassion, unity, and community. It shows that even in tragedy, people can come together to lift each other up,” she expressed.
