The second round of the 4th NCBA Coast Junior Open concluded on Sunday, 19th April 2026 at the picturesque Nyali Golf & Country Club, setting up an exciting final round as the leading juniors position themselves for top honors.
Justin Ngeera of Vet Lab Sports Club surged into the lead following an outstanding second round of two-under-par (69), bringing his two-day total to six-over-par (148).

Ngeera’s composed performance places him two shots clear at the top of the boys’ leaderboard heading into the final day.
Ghana’s Kingsley Afful, the overnight leader, slipped to second place after a round of 76, for a total of eight-over-par (150).

Close behind is Maahir Patel of Sigona Golf Club at nine-over-par (151), keeping the pressure firmly on the leaders.
Myles Wahome of Vet Lab Sports Club remains in contention at eleven-over-par (153) after consistent rounds of 76 and 77.
In the girls’ competition, Cherono Kipkorir of Royal Nairobi Golf Club leads the field with a two-round total of seventeen-over-par (159) following a steady second round of 78.
She holds a narrow advantage over Maryam Mwakitawa of Sigona Golf Club, who is currently placed at nineteen-over-par (161), alongside Nyawira Macharia, who continues to stay within reach at twenty-two-over-par (164).
At the conclusion of Round 2, the top 33 players and ties successfully made the cut and will proceed to the final round, where the championship titles will be decided.
The tournament, a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event, also counts towards the Junior Golf Foundation Order of Merit, adding further significance as players aim to strengthen their standings.
Supported by NCBA Group, the NCBA Coast Junior Open continues to provide a vital platform for the development of junior golf, offering young players the opportunity to compete at a high level.
With the final round set, all eyes will be on Nyali as the leading contenders battle for top honors in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the championship.
