Three denied bail in Satlat murder case

The National Prosecuting Authority has welcomed the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court decision to deny three of the six accused in the Isaac Satlat murder case bail on Tuesday.

Three other accused abandoned their bail application in February.

Satlat, an e-hailing driver, was murdered in February this year in Pretoria West.

The accused allegedly posed as passengers and robbed the Nigerian national of his cellphone before strangling him to death.

Video footage from Satlat’s dashcam went viral on social media, and the accused were arrested shortly after the incident.

NPA Spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana says, “We welcome the ruling of the court to deny bail to the three accused persons involved in the murder. In this case, there are six accused, but three applied for bail, which was denied by the court and as the state, we opposed their release on bail.”
