Pemba (MOZTIMES) – The World Bank will provide US$250 million to finance the MozCommunity programme, launched by President Daniel Chapo in Pemba on Monday.
The initiative will cover 56 districts in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Niassa, with investments in employment, small businesses, education, health, water and local infrastructure.
The programme will be implemented by the Integrated Development Agency of the North (ADIN) and constitutes one of the efforts to respond to the conflict in northern Mozambique through development initiatives aimed at reducing the risk of young people joining violent extremist groups.
