Belize stays sunny while Tropical Storm Dolly forms in the Atlantic

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP):  Generally fair weather conditions prevail across Belize today, according to the National Meteorological Service.

Expect sunny skies with a few cloudy spells through the day and partly cloudy skies tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will be isolated, with a medium chance of a few more over the south tonight.

Inland temperatures will reach 94 degrees Fahrenheit before dropping to 75 overnight. The coast reaches 89 with a low of 82, while the hills stay at 80 and fall to 68.

At sea, easterly winds will blow at 10 to 15 knots with choppy conditions and waves of 3 to 5 feet.

Forecasters are tracking Tropical Storm Dolly, which at 3am was located about 1,145 miles east of the Leeward Islands. Dolly was moving west at 24 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour. The system poses no threat to Belize.

Saturday brings cloudy skies at times with isolated showers or thunderstorms, and a low chance of a few more over southern and coastal areas Saturday morning.

Sunrise was at 5:38am and sunset comes at 6:09pm.
