By Zoila Palma: A young couple were found dead inside their home in Hillview, Santa Elena this morning.
Councillor Aaron Mai has since extended condolences to the families.
“Today is a very sad day for my community.
I knew both of them personally, and I know they both had a strong drive to excel in life and build a better future for their little family.
They had recently started their own small business in Hillview, selling vegetables and working hard to make an honest living. Mike was also a songwriter,” Mai said.
“That is why this loss is so painful and difficult to understand. Why would anyone take the lives of two young people who were simply trying to build a life and a family? They had a young baby and were just beginning their journey as a family,” Mai added.
Mai urged all Belizeans to join as one community, “We must do better as a community. Put down the gun and pick up God.”
