Josh Jacobs Added To Commissioner’s Exempt List As Video Reportedly Backs Up Ex’s Attack Claim

Three months ago, Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested on domestic assault charges, and now he’s officially been charged with misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal damage to property.
The charges stem from an alleged altercation with an ex-girlfriend back in May at his Wisconsin home, and the update comes as District Attorney David L. Lasee says there’s video footage that corroborates the woman’s account, who police identify as ANM.
The “surveillance footage from the camera system within the garage of the Tretni Mar residence from May 23, 2026, between 8:30 a.m. and 8:38 a.m. corroborates the relevant portions of ANM’s statement that one would expect to have seen on video, including both ANM and Jacobs departing the residence in their respective vehicles and returning to the residence, as well as their actions on the security camera in the garage,” Lasee said.
The initial report said she was going through his phone and was upset to learn he was talking to other women. In turn, Jacobs had her phone and was told he could also look through it, but when she tried to get it back, he grabbed her arm, and she ended up on the floor.
The report adds, “ANM laid on the ground for a while and then struggled to walk back into the house.”
The report says the video shows him following her to the garage, and when she tried to exit, he grabbed her, threw her to the ground, and hit her in the head, which left her with “a bump” and “in pain.”
Despite the video and account, Jacobs’ initial felony strangulation and suffocation, and four domestic abuse misdemeanors were dropped, citing lack of evidence.
With the NFL season kicking off in September, he’s now been placed on the commissioner’s exempt list, so he’s not currently part of the roster and can’t practice or attend games. However, he will be paid, and if the team allows it, he can still be at the facility for meetings, individual workouts, medical treatments and any other non-football reasons.
In a statement, Jacobs’ attorneys David Z. Chesnoff, Richard A. Schonfeld and Clarence F. Duchac III say, “Josh Jacobs has been placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, which is an administrative procedure used by the NFL while a matter is being reviewed. It is not a final determination. Josh respects the NFL process, the Packers, and his Coaches and Teammates. He looks forward to his return to the team and the NFL.”
