Lizzo “Relieved” After Judge Dismisses Former Stylist’s Harassment Lawsuit

Lizzo is finally free from the lawsuit against her production company.
According to court documents, District Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha filed a ruling dismissing the claims.
The singer’s former wardrobe assistant, Asha Daniels, alleged she faced “degradation, forced physical labor, denial of medical care, sexual harassment, and racial harassment” while working for Lizzo’s Big Grrrl Big Touring in 2023.
But Aenlle-Rocha says it was tossed because she couldn’t produce any evidence that showed “general hostility to women in the workplace” or “disparate treatment of men and women.”
This was the last lifeline for the case, after the judge ruled in 2024 that Daniels could sue the company, but not Lizzo as an individual.
A “relieved” Lizzo responded on Instagram without even saying a word.
Instead, she posted a silent video of herself, with notes to her fans flashing on the screen describing all she went through in the case, fighting to clear her name over someone she never worked with directly.
“All the ridiculous claims by a wardrobe assistant who worked on tour for less than 3 weeks, including a claim they broke an acrylic nail, have been dismissed,” she begins. “It was all so shocking because I was being sued by someone who admittedly never met me. I prayed for the truth to come out, and thanks to incredible lawyers, the truth has prevailed. That truth matters more to me than anything, and I told y’all, I will not settle and will continue to fight every vicious claim that has been made against me and my businesses. I’m grateful to God and my team for another victory.”
She ends the note by saying she will “continue to use my platform to spread positivity and light to the world.”
Lizzo can now turn her legal team’s attention to the backup dancers’ case she’s fighting, who also allege issues while traveling with her.
The backup dancers, Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis and Noelle Rodriguez, say they faced sexual harassment and racial harassment, and that Lizzo created a hostile work environment.
They’re accusing her of pressuring them into touching nude performers at a sex show in Amsterdam, weight-shaming, and calling her Black dancers “lazy, unprofessional, and having bad attitudes.”
