LPG prices drop by 9cents per gallon

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The Supplies Control Unit (SCU) within the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and New Growth Industries has announced new controlled prices for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), effective today.

Under the new pricing structure, LPG will now be regulated based on wholesale volume and retail sales by volume in both urban and rural areas.

For import wholesale, the controlled price has been set at $4.32 per gallon across all six districts. The price applies equally in the Belize, Cayo, Orange Walk, Corozal, Stann Creek and Toledo districts.

At the retail level, the controlled price in urban areas is $1.35 per pound or $5.92 per gallon. The same rates apply in Belize City, Belmopan, San Ignacio, Benque Viejo del Carmen, Orange Walk Town, Corozal Town, Dangriga and Punta Gorda.

The SCU is advising consumers and LPG retailers to take note of the new controlled prices, which come into effect nationwide as of August 28.
