Shedeur Sanders Returns to Colorado to Receive His Diploma

Shedeur Sanders had unfinished business in Boulder, and on Saturday, he took care of it.

The Cleveland Browns quarterback returned to the University of Colorado to walk with his fellow graduates and receive his diploma, earning his degree in sociology one year after leaving campus for the NFL.

Sanders spent two seasons at Colorado from 2023 to 2024 alongside his father and head coach Deion Sanders, becoming the engine behind one of the most talked-about rebuilds in college football. He finished eighth in Heisman Trophy voting during the 2024 season and helped return the Buffaloes to national relevance before declaring for the draft.

The Browns selected him in the fifth round last year, a slide that drew plenty of reaction across the league. He responded by starting seven games as a rookie, quietly building the kind of foundation that suggests his best NFL football is still ahead.

But Saturday was about none of that. It was about a commitment he made to himself long before any of the draft noise, the headlines, or the expectations that came with his last name.

He showed up, put in the work in the classroom, and walked across that stage. That one was for him.
