St. Louis County sets out data center safeguards

St. Louis County is proposing stricter rules for future data centers in unincorporated areas, including requirements addressing power use, water quality and noise.

The 21-page proposal comes even though no data center projects are pending in those areas. County Executive Sam Page said Tuesday the regulations are intended to protect residents while setting expectations for developers.

“We take seriously clean-air, clean water and noise pollution,” Page said.
