Three people gunned down in separate incidents on Cape Flats
A man has been killed in a drive-by shooting incident in Cafda Village in Retreat.
Three people have been shot dead and three wounded in separate incidents on the Cape Flats in Cape Town in the past 24 hours.
In the latest case, Western Cape Police Spokesperson Wesley Twigg says a man has been killed in a drive-by shooting incident in Cafda Village in Retreat.
Twigg says the killing is believed to be gang-related.
He says the 28-year-old victim was shot in the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Twigg says, “According to reports the victim was walking in the road when a black vehicle drove up to him and one of the occupants of the vehicle opened fire on him. The motive for the attack is believed to be gang-related. The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested. Steenberg detectives are investigating a murder case.”
MINIBUS-TAXI
In another case, a passenger sitting in a minibus-taxi in Mfuleni was shot and wounded on Wednesday night.
Twigg says the victim was approached by an unknown assailant who opened fire on him while he was sitting in the taxi.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his arm and taken to a hospital for treatment.
He says the motive for the attack is under investigation and no arrests have been made.
In the third case, police are probing a shooting incident in Wallacedene, Kraaifontein on the Cape Flats that has claimed the life of one person and injured three others, including a five-year-old child.
