By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Economic Transformation, serving as the GEF Political Focal Point, has congratulated the communities of Boom Creek and Ringtail on receiving support through the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme.
The project will provide renewable solar energy to 50 households in the two communities, expanding access to clean energy while strengthening their resilience.
The initiative represents a total investment of BZ$635,395 and will be implemented by Plenty International Belize Limited.
The Ministry also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Solid Waste Management, Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government, the United Nations Development Programme and the Global Environment Facility for their continued partnership and support toward advancing sustainable development and clean energy access in Belize.
