Celebrated Poet George The Poet Joins Poetic Unity as Patron as Charity Marks 10-Year Milestone
London, UK – 10.02.2025 – Poetic Unity, the Black-led charity transforming lives through poetry, proudly announces the appointment of celebrated spoken word artist George The Poet as its new patron. This exciting collaboration coincides with Poetic Unity’s 10-year anniversary, marking a decade of empowering young people and championing social justice through the art of poetry and supporting better mental health in our communities.
George The Poet, an internationally renowned artist and social commentator, will play a pivotal role in raising the profile of Poetic Unity. His contributions will include performing at key events, supporting fundraising efforts, and helping the charity break into new spaces to achieve its vision of a world where poetry inspires, and uplifts marginalised communities across the UK and beyond. With future projects and campaigns in development, this partnership promises to bring impactful initiatives to the forefront of youth culture and community engagement.
George The Poet, commented: "I'm truly excited to become a patron for Poetic Unity. There is no better use of poetry than for the kind of grassroots work, this organisation excels in. I've always been blown away by the talent of the poets that form this collective and it's an honour to support them in this role.
Ryan J. Matthews-Robinson, Founder and CEO, Poetic Unity, said: “We are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over the past 10 years and deeply grateful to everyone who has supported us. With George The Poet as our patron, we are excited to build on our success, expand our reach, and continue providing opportunities that change lives from Brixton to the world!”
