De Sousa wins bronze on Day 4 of African Champs

Namibia’s swimmers continued to demonstrate resilience and talent on Day 4 of the African Swimming Championships, securing another medal and multiple strong finals performances.

Highlights:

Girls’ 400m medley (14–18 years): Victoria De Sousa won bronze with a time of 5:10.76, delivering Namibia’s medal of the day.

Girls’ 100m backstroke (14–18 years): Roselinda Matyayi finished 4th in 1:06.27, narrowly missing the podium.

Boys’ 100m backstroke (14–18 years): Lorenzo Esterhuizen placed 5th in 58.84, maintaining Namibia’s strong presence in backstroke.

Boys’ 400m medley (14–18 years): Lorenzo Esterhuizen finished 5th in 4:47.52, showing his versatility across strokes.

Men’s 100m butterfly (19+ years): Jose Canjulo finished 6th in 55.37, representing Namibia strongly in the senior category.

Women’s 50m breaststroke (19+ years): Molina Smalley placed 7th in 34.15, adding depth to Namibia’s senior finals representation.
