Lil Durk Trial: Two Cooperators Link Rapper To Quando Rondo Plot
OTF Vonni and Flacka implicate Lil Durk while defense lawyers expose conflicting statements and an unpaid alleged bounty.
Lil Durk watched two admitted participants turn government witnesses Monday as prosecutors tied him directly to the alleged Quando Rondo murder-for-hire plot.
Day 8 centered first on Keith “Flacka” Jones before Kavon “OTF Vonni” Grant took the stand for roughly 30 minutes late Monday afternoon.
Both men admitted roles in the August 19, 2022 attack that killed Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson while Quando Rondo escaped the gunfire.
Flacka told jurors that Deondre “DeDe” Wilson summoned him to California with word that Durk had offered $1 million for the operation.
He said Durk was the only person around them with that kind of money, making the message clear without naming him.
Flacka claimed he later approached Durk after a Chicago concert because nobody paid him after the failed attempt against Rondo.
According to Flacka, Durk promised assistance but criticized the shooters for failing to move closer before opening fire at the gas station.
Flacka also described Durk forming a gun with his fingers and allegedly directing him toward OTF Boonie Moe for payment.
The promised million allegedly became an offer of $10,000, yet Flacka said repeated requests still produced excuses instead of money.
The defense attacked that account by showing jurors Flacka initially denied Durk’s involvement and identified OTF Vonni as the operation’s leader.
Flacka admitted lying during his first police interview, which changed after agents warned that a conviction could separate him permanently from his children.
He maintained that rest and time allowed him to give investigators the truth, while defense lawyers suggested fear produced a more useful story.
OTF Vonni then became the government’s third cooperator to testify and immediately accused Durk of ordering the California attack.
The former personal assistant said he spent nearly every day with Durk, handling transportation, meals, shopping and travel arrangements beginning in 2018.
He joined Durk’s payroll in early 2021 and described becoming even closer to the rapper after his cousin King Von died.
Prosecutors showed OTF Vonni footage from the November 2020 Atlanta shooting while he explained trying to reach King Von amid the chaos.
OTF Vonni said he arrived before the club gathering, heard gunfire from his vehicle and later drove toward his wounded cousin.
He recalled urging people to place King Von inside a car before the rapper died from his injuries that night.
Durk’s lawyers maintain that OTF Vonni organized the retaliation himself by arranging vehicles, travel, masks and other pieces of the operation.
That defense makes OTF Vonni’s credibility central because prosecutors say he followed Durk’s command, while Durk says his assistant acted independently.
OTF Vonni returns Tuesday morning for additional questioning before Durk’s lawyers receive their opportunity to challenge his account on cross-examination.
