By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police are investigating a stabbing incident in Valley of Peace Village that left a 20-year-old construction worker injured.

According to police, the investigation began around 8:33 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, after officers visited the Western Regional Hospital, where they observed a man suffering from a stab wound.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Frank Batres, a Belizean construction worker of Valley of Peace Village.

Batres reported that around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2026, he was socializing with friends at a bar in Valley of Peace. He told police that while in the bathroom area of the establishment, he behaved inappropriately toward a female, which led the owner to evict him from the bar.

While leaving the establishment, Batres said a known male person approached him and punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. He further reported that while he was on the ground, the same man assaulted him and stabbed him in the back.

Batres remains in stable condition. Police investigations continue.
