At the beginning of 2026, traders at one of London’s most beloved markets were hit with an eviction notice. Dalston’s Ridley Road market has existed since the late 1880s and is now home to over 150 stalls, selling produce from around the world, with a focus on Afro-Caribbean, Asian and Turkish goods.
