Annual Events Build on Milwaukee’s Work to Advance Public Safety
Mayor Cavalier Johnson will join Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Brenda Cassellius and Director of the Department of Community Wellness and Safety Karin Tyler to officially kick off MKE Peace Week on Friday morning at Milwaukee High School of the Arts.
The event will include remarks from city and community leaders alongside students from Milwaukee High School of the Arts. Following the press conference, students will lead attendees in a collaborative Peace Mandala-making activity focused on unity, healing, and community connection.
Now in its fourth year, MKE Peace Week is a coordinated, citywide initiative that brings together City departments, community-based organizations, schools, faith leaders, and residents around a shared commitment to creating a safer, stronger Milwaukee through peacebuilding and community engagement.
