New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani annouced Monday that New York City public schools will be open Tuesday after being closed Monday due to a blizzard.
Mamdani made the announcement during a press conference while giving an update on conditions in the city. A travel ban was lifted at 12 pm Monday.
A blizzard blew through the city Sunday night into Monday dumping more than a foot of snow in the city. Efforts continue to clear snow from city streets and sidewalks for Tuesday’s morning commute.
