Afrobeats heavyweight BNXN and legendary Nigerian producer Sarz have officially joined forces for their highly anticipated collaborative EP, The Game Needs Us, a five-track project already making waves across the music scene. Released to widespread excitement and immediate critical acclaim, the project quickly climbed to the No. 2 spot on the Apple Music Nigeria charts within hours of its arrival.
Following their undeniable chemistry on fan-favourite records like Gwagwalada and Pidgin & English, the new EP feels like a natural evolution for the duo — a focused and intentional body of work from two creatives who continue to shape the sound of contemporary Afrobeats.
Leading the rollout was Back Outside, released in April, which immediately captured attention for its smooth interpolation of Amadou & Mariam’s iconic Ko Neye Mounka Allah La. The track set the tone for a project rooted in rich musicality, nostalgia, and effortless groove.
Across the EP’s remaining tracks — Rum & Soda, Already, Emotional High, and Frank Sinatra — Sarz showcases his trademark production mastery, blending African percussion with atmospheric synth textures and cinematic sound design. The production feels expansive yet refined, giving BNXN ample room to glide across each record with his signature velvety vocals and emotionally layered songwriting.

Lyrically, BNXN delivers one of his most self-assured performances to date. While songs like Rum & Soda celebrate success, luxury, and confidence, tracks such as Emotional High revisit the introspective vulnerability that first connected him deeply with listeners. Throughout the project, there is a subtle but consistent theme of re-emergence — a reminder that even after periods of silence, BNXN remains one of the genre’s most emotionally resonant voices.
For Sarz, The Game Needs Us adds another standout entry to a catalogue of influential collaborative projects, following acclaimed partnerships with artists like Wurld and Lojay. Meanwhile, the EP arrives as another major milestone for BNXN following the success of his 2025 album Captain.
Clocking in at just fifteen minutes, the project avoids excess and filler, instead prioritising replay value, sonic cohesion, and technical precision. The result is a concise yet impactful release that reinforces the unique chemistry between BNXN and Sarz — one built on restraint, musical excellence, and a deep understanding of modern African sound.
With The Game Needs Us, BNXN and Sarz are not simply releasing another collaboration; they are reaffirming their importance in a rapidly evolving Afrobeats landscape.
