Brazil and Morocco advanced to the round of 32 stage at the on-going 2026 FIFA World Cup from Group C.
Brazil whipped Scotland 3-0 at the Miami stadium on Wednesday evening.
Vinicius Jose Paixao de Oliveira Junior scored a brace with Matheus Santos Carneiro da Cunha adding the other.
Vinicius opened the scoring business as early as the 7th minute. He then had a would be second disallowed for a foul but managed to score again in the third minute of additional time as the record five time champion led 2-0 by the mandatory break.
This was the fourth goal of the tournament for the Real Madrid and Brazil playmaker.
Matheus Santos Carneiro da Cunha scored on the hour mark for his third goal of the championship.
With 15 minutes to play, the stadium was treated to deafening cheers when talisman Neymar Junior was introduced for Cunha.
This was Neymar’s first game in Brazilian colours in over three years due to injury concerns.
In the other Group C contest at the Atlanta stadium, Morocco twice recovered from a goal down to triumph 4-2 over already eliminated Haiti.

Haiti shocked the African representatives with a goal on 10 minutes when Lenny Joseph’s ball bounced off goalkeeper Yassine Bonnou for the opener.
Lenny, a French born forward who features for Hungarian club Ferencvaros reacted fastest to a well laid ball that hit Bonnou before rolling into the net.
Morocco’s captain Achraf Hakimi got the equalizer in the 39th minute before Wilson Isidor’s thunderbolt four minutes later.
The goal galore continued with Ismael Saibari’s equalizer in stoppage time as the opening stanza ended 2-all.
Soufiane Rahimi and Gessime Yassine found the other goals for the Atlas Lions in the 78th and 89th minutes respectively.
Group C was led by Brazil with 7 points and a good goal difference over Morocco who also have 7 points.
Scotland remains on three with realistic mathematical chances of progress to the knock out round among the 8 third best countries per group.
