BTS Members React to Drake Name-Dropping Them on New ‘Iceman’ Track
It's not the first time Drizzy has recognized the K-pop group.
You know you’ve made it when Drake name-checks you in a song. In one of the rapper’s tracks from his newly released Iceman album, he shouts out BTS, after which members j-hope and V shared a video of their unfiltered reactions to the nod.
In an Instagram Stories clip posted by V on Friday (May 15), the K-pop stars are hanging out together in a room, dancing enthusiastically while listening to Drizzy’s “Make Them Cry.” When the Canadian hip-hop star spits, “I’m feeling like BTS, ’cause it took the whole career for me to be so discovered,” the two performers freeze and simultaneously look at the camera, stunned.
Then, j-hope and V turn to look at each other, their faces slack with disbelief. The “Love Me Again” singer didn’t caption the clip, simply tagging Drake’s account instead.
It’s not the first time the 6 God has recognized BTS, or vice versa. In 2018, he included a viral clip of j-hope doing his “In My Feelings” challenge in the song’s official music video.
“Make Them Cry” was one of 18 tracks the Toronto native dropped earlier that day on Iceman, and one of dozens more overall. Taking fans by surprise, Drake released two more albums than expected Friday, also unveiling Maid of Honour and Habibti in addition to Iceman.
BTS is also fresh off a new album, dropping ARIRANG in March. The album spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while lead single “SWIM” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100. The septet is now on tour in support of the project, playing stadiums across the world. Most recently, the Bangtan Boys stopped through Mexico City for three nights at Estadio GNP Seguros.
