Ethio telecom is participating as a Platinum Sponsor and Strategic Partner at the International Conference on Cybersecurity in the Era of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (ICCA2026), reaffirming its commitment to advancing cybersecurity and supporting Africa’s digital transformation agenda.
The two-day continental conference, being held at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UN-ECA) headquarters in Addis Ababa, is jointly organized by the UN-ECA and the Ethiopian Cybersecurity Association (ECySA). The event brings together policymakers, cybersecurity experts, technology leaders, and industry stakeholders to discuss emerging cyber threats and innovative solutions in the digital age.
The conference serves as an important platform for strengthening continental cooperation through the exchange of practical experiences, research findings, and technical assessments of cyberattack incidents. Discussions also focus on the growing role of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity and the development of innovative technologies aimed at enhancing digital resilience.
Speaking during the conference, Ethio telecom Chief Information Security Officer Tsegaye Emmanuel emphasized that digital transformation cannot achieve its full potential without establishing “digital trust.” He noted that cybersecurity is not merely a technical requirement but a critical foundation for sustainable economic growth and the protection of essential national infrastructure.
According to Tsegaye, ensuring secure digital environments is essential for building confidence in digital services and supporting the expansion of the digital economy. He stressed that robust cybersecurity measures are necessary to safeguard institutions, businesses, and citizens as digital transformation accelerates across Africa.
During the event, Ethio telecom is showcasing a broad portfolio of enterprise solutions designed to strengthen cybersecurity and promote a secure digital ecosystem. These solutions include advanced technologies for data privacy and protection, network operations security, and cyberattack prevention and mitigation systems.
The company said these technologies are intended to help institutions navigate their digital transformation journeys with confidence while protecting critical information assets and maintaining operational resilience.
As the custodian of Ethiopia’s national digital infrastructure, Ethio telecom reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a competitive advantage in modern cybersecurity practices. The company stated that safeguarding data sovereignty and ensuring the reliability of the digital economy remain central to its mission.
Through its participation in ICCA2026, Ethio telecom aims to contribute to Africa’s secure and inclusive digital transformation while supporting greater collaboration on cybersecurity challenges and opportunities across the continent.
