By Breaking Belize News Staff: Thirty-eight-year-old Dixon Montero Cayetano remains on remand at the Belize Central Prison after making his second appearance in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on firearm and ammunition charges.
Cayetano, a Taylor’s Alley resident who remains unrepresented, appeared before Magistrate Newshad Mohammed in Court #5 on Monday, where the matter was adjourned until October 8, 2026.
He was first arraigned on July 8, 2026, on charges of keeping an unlicensed firearm and keeping unlicensed ammunition. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded due to the nature of the offences.
Police allege that Cayetano was found in possession of a black Daewoo-brand 9mm pistol along with 13 live rounds of 9mm ammunition during an encounter in the Taylor’s Alley area.
Cayetano, a Honduran national who has claimed that he is a naturalized Belizean, remains behind bars pending his next court appearance.
