By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have detained an 18-year-old man in connection with the theft of a motorcycle from Belize City over the weekend.
A 21-year-old man told police that at about midnight on Sunday, August 30, he parked his black Lifan motorcycle outside a friend’s residence near the corner of Elston Street and the George Price Highway because the motorcycle could not fit through the property’s gate.
When he prepared to leave at approximately 3:30 a.m., he discovered that the motorcycle was missing.
The motorcycle, fitted with a black storage box behind the seat, is valued at approximately $4,500.
Police say an 18-year-old Belize City mechanic has since been detained in connection with the investigation.
The matter remains under investigation.
