Rotary Club of Ibara GRA has installed Shoyoye O. Johnson as the new president of the club, with a mandate to take charge of its affairs for the 2026–2027 Rotary Year.
Shoyoye assumed office after taking over the leadership of the club from his predecessor, Haruna Yusuf Kefas, during an installation ceremony held on Thursday.
The event also witnessed the inauguration of the new Board of Directors of the club, who will work with the new president to drive the activities and programmes of the Rotary Club in the coming year.
Members of the new board include the Immediate Past President, Haruna Yusuf Kefas, Okuneye Afolake, President-Elect; Imona Fedora, Secretary, Lamidi Mojisola, Treasurer, Monayajo Adeola, Chair- Service Project, Egbetola Olalekan, Chair- Membership.
Others are Jimoh Olaniyi, Chair-Foundation; Ayinde Festus, Club Sergeant-at-Arms; Ayangbesan Margaret, Chair-Public Image; Johnson Sholademi, Chair- Welfare; PRC Kunle Lipede, Chair- Youth Service, Afolabi Roseline, Assistant Public Image, Oyalowo Olatunde, Chair-Vocational Service; and Aboaba Olaniyi, Chair, Polio.
Speaking during his acceptance speech at the investiture ceremony, Johnson expressed appreciation to members of the club for the trust and support given to him, describing his emergence as a call to dedicated service.
He assured members of his commitment to promoting accelerated welfare and ensuring that the club’s programmes and events align with the Rotary International theme for the 2026–2027 Rotary Year, “Creating Lasting Impact.
The new president disclosed that his administration would embark on a major community project involving the construction and equipping of a Primary Health Centre at Olope City, Bode-Olude, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to him, the project is aimed at improving healthcare access within the community and aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) Good Health and Well-being under the United Nations Development Framework.
Johnson also pledged to sustain the legacy and achievements of past leaders and presidents of Rotary Club of Ibara GRA, while building on their contributions through impactful service initiatives.
He called for continued support and cooperation from members, noting that the success of his administration would depend on collective commitment and teamwork.
Earlier speaking, the past president described Shoyoye as a capable successor.
He said he’s optimistic that Shoyoye would perform while calling on members of the club to support him in making his tenure a successful one.
