A man arrested by Metro Vancouver Transit Police on eight Canada-wide arrest warrants out of Saskatchewan remains in custody to face charges.
On Thursday, August 27, shortly after 8 p.m., officers from the Transit Police Targeted Mobile Enforcement Team were conducting impaired driving enforcement in the area around Surrey Central Station when they encountered a driver with eight active Canada-wide arrest warrants. Emmanuel Enocent Dario, a 36-year-old man from Surrey, was taken into custody on the following outstanding warrants out of Estevan, Saskatchewan:
- Two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking a controlled substance;
- Two counts of fail to comply with release order;
- Two counts of fail to attend court;
- One count of possession of property obtained by crime;
- One count of obstruct a Peace Officer;
Dario is currently held in custody pending his next court appearance.
“Transit Police takes public safety seriously. We are proud to have removed a wanted criminal from our community in partnership with policing partners,” said Constable Sunny Kainth.
