Cassius Constantine and Abigail Lesfloris have won the titles of Misyé èk Manmzèl Kwéyòl (Mister and Miss Creole).

Their victories come amid the resurgence of the Creole pageant, staged by Sandals Grande Saint Lucian Spa and Beach Resort, following a post-COVID-19 hiatus.

“I went in to have fun, and I did. But it was even better when I heard the crowd’s response to me, and then to actually win. It was great!” said Constantine, Mr Kwéyòl.

In 2024, he also won the title of Mr Caribbean Island Continental.

According to Lesfloris, her win holds extra significance, as she felt her competitors delivered stellar performances throughout the competition.

“Going into the pageant, I thought I had a strong talent, but on the night of the show, when I saw what the other contestants brought to the stage, I was like ‘wow’; they are all so good. You can imagine how I felt when I heard my name as the winner…” she said.

According to the resort, the significance of the event goes beyond pageant night as the initiative unfolded during the fourth quarter of last year, infusing Saint Lucia’s Creole culture into company activities and boosting employee engagement through the formation of committees, seminars and workshops.

The activities culminated in the pageant,  with nine employees taking to the stage.

“It brought a vibe to the resort, and it was truly heart-warming to see how the team was able to pull through, with all of them performing at their full-time jobs,” said Sandals Grande General Manager Della John.

Other contestants included Gania Alladhua, Kayde Altenor, Albert Charlemagne, Eva Alfred, Chelsea Joseph, Jasmine Nelson, and Roche St Cyr.
