DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged newly appointed Court of Appeal judges to uphold justice with integrity, professionalism and impartiality in order to strengthen peace, stability and national development in Tanzania.

Speaking after swearing in the judges at the State House in Dar es Salaam today, May 26, 2026,  President Samia said justice remains the foundation of the nation’s prosperity and the wellbeing of its citizens.

“Go and serve the country with integrity, professionalism and patriotism. Perform your duties without favour, affection or hatred,” she said.

The Head of State reminded the judges of the weight of the responsibility entrusted to them in safeguarding citizens’ rights and protecting national interests through their judicial decisions.

President Samia noted that the administration of justice is a major responsibility directly linked to public service and accountability before God.

“Those whom God has chosen to administer justice for others are you, judges at different levels,” she said.

She further emphasised that judicial officers must make decisions based on the law, justice and the interests of the people, without being influenced by personal emotions or bias.

The President’s remarks come as Tanzania continues efforts to strengthen good governance, the rule of law and public confidence in the judiciary.
