After three and a half years, the En Root team have said goodbye to The Ritzy Cinema, with the Indian Fusion chefs serving their last plant based meal on May 10th 2026.
In a statement, they said:
From pre-film meals to post-film conversations, this space became a place where culture and community came together.
We’re proud to have helped bring to life the UK’s first plant-powered cinema kitchen.
For many of you, this is where you first discovered En Root and where you kept coming back, time and time again.
That means more to us than we can say. Our last day of trading at The Ritzy will be 11th May.
After that, you can still find us just 10 minutes down the road at En Root Clapham for our Lunch Time Special, or hop on the 37 straight to En Root Peckham.
We promise to continue providing the goodness.
Huge love to The Ritzy team for the collaboration, and to everyone who showed up, supported and shared the journey along the way.
Stay with us. The journey never stops. With love, En Root
What’s replacing them?
A date hasn’t been set yet, but Brixton Buzz was told that The Merge, an authentic Afro-Fusion takeaway and restaurant based in Camberwell, will be taking over the Ritzy restaurant.
Their menu stands in total contrast with their predecessor, being heavily focussed on meat and fish, with few vegan options.
We’ll look forward to checking them out when they open.
